Salma Ali wins the silver medal in the Grand Prix of ParaTaekwondo

Egyptian athlete Salma Ali, a member of the Egyptian national team in ParaTaekwondo, has won the silver medal in the 52 kg weight category at the Grand Prix tournament hosted by Manchester, England, from November 30th to December 3rd.

Salma lost the final match against to the Brazilian champion with a score of 7-4, earning her the silver medal.

Salma reached the finals after defeating the Mexican champion in the semi-finals with a score of 11-5. She also managed to defeat the Brazilian player in the quarter-finals with a score of 4-15 to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

The National team is headed by Engineer Mohamed Ejeza, board member of the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation and the general supervisor of Taekwondo national team, in addition to Accountant Hazem Qandeel, a board member and the supervisor of the Para-taekwondo national team, as the head of the ParaTaekwondo delegation.

The technical staff includes Osama El-Sayed as the head coach, along with Mohamed Magdi and Ismail Mohran as coaches for the ParaTaekwondo team.

Salma had previously won the gold medal in the “G6” category at the Grand Prix tournament held in Mexico in September. She became the first Egyptian female athlete to qualify to Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Salma secured the gold medal after defeating a player from Mongolia 3-2 in the final match.
