The Paralympic movement in Egypt is witnessing its golden era due to the increasing support of the Egyptian government and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Egyptian Paralympic Committee (EPC) is one of the main pillars in the sports system for achieving the objectives of Egypt 2030 Vision and the SDGs. The Egyptian Paralympians have achieved hundreds of medals and cups breaking world records and EPC takes responsibility to empower our champs to participate and excel in world championships. The current EPC decided to adopt innovative approaches to advance the Paralympic movement by focusing on athletes wellbeing, launching the Egyptian Paralympic Academy and the Paralympic Museum, addressing environmental issues, and most importantly hosting the International Paralympic Committee VISTA Scientific Conference in Egypt for the first time in Africa and the Middle East.

The EPC is also honored to host IPC VISTA Scientific Conference in October 2023. Hosting the VISTA Scientific Conference in Egypt is essential for transferring knowledge and experiences to African and Middle Eastern towards advancing the Paralympic movement promoting inclusion and diversity in Paralympic sports. Moreover, hosting the VISTA Scientific Conference will promote and advance the mission, goals, objectives, and the reputation of the IPC in Africa and the Middle East and provide a platform for African and Middle Eastern stakeholders, scientists, and athletes to meet and exchange knowledge with international experts in the field of Paralympic sports.

The Egyptian Paralympic Museum which will be third all over the world. The museum documents memories and history of Paralympic sports in Egypt showcasing achieved medals, cups, certificates, letters, photos, videos and decorations. This comes in celebration of 50 Years Paralympics in Egypt. The EPC has also initiated the Egyptian Paralympic Academy will equip professionals in the Paralympics field to enhance their experiences and their training tools the help of a number of professional professors and academics. The EPC will serve not only the Egyptian community but the Arab and African countries.

For the first time, EPC finalized the national classification strategic plan to prepare our national classifiers in all Paralympic sports to serve 26 governorates of Egypt. Moreover, EPC took the initiative to help with the financial support needed for advancing the Egyptian Paralympic Sports by establishing an Egyptian joint-stock company attracting a number of shareholders from Egypt and abroad. This will help us expand our resources to support the Paralympic movement in Egypt.

The above-mentioned initiatives give me confidence to claim big leaps in Egyptian Paralympic movement which positions Egypt as a Paralympic sports leader in Africa and the Middle East. The wellbeing and the advancements of our athletes is the main concern of EPC, and I more than confident that our efforts will be reflected in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. It is with your cooperation, enthusiasm, and your hard work that I will be able to succeed in accomplishing my mission working hand in hand as one family across the world to advance the field of Paralympic sports.

Mission

Lead advancement and sustainability of the Egyptian Paralympic Sports System qualifying and empowering Egyptian athletes to succeed on national and international levels.

Vision

To provide best chance for Egyptian Paralympic athletes to compete in national and international champions

Strategic Objectives

1- Establish the Egyptian Paralympic Academy to qualify people in the field of Paralympic Sports.

2- Prepare our national teams to participate in the Paris Paralympic Games 2024, in cooperation with our sports Olympic and Paralympic Federations, to achieve our goals.

3- Fundraising, sponsorship rights and market the Paralympic sports to increase our financial capabilities, to execute our plan and projects.

4- Develop a media strategy and policy to cover all Paralympic sports activities in cooperation with the concerned federations and media institutions.

5- Organize the National Paralympic Games, include all Paralympic sports practicing in Egypt, similar to the Paralympic Games.

6- Create Corporate Social responsibilities program to support people with disabilities.

7- Paralympic sports independence, according to the strategy of the International Paralympic Committee.

8- Egyptian Paralympic Committee restructuring to achieve professionalism and digitalization.

9- Promote and develop Paralympic sports in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, through the 54 National Sports Centers for Persons with Disabilities.
