Emad Ramadan proposed 50% representation for people with disabilities in both National and International Paralympic committees at the IPC general Assembly and Conference held at Manama, Bahrain

In the IPC General Assembly meeting held at Manama, Bahrain, from 27-29th September 2023 and witnesses the attendance of 180 representatives from National Paralympic Committees, International Federations, Regional Organizations, and International Organizations of Sport for the Disabled, Emad Ramadan, EPC treasurer proposed that the disabled have the right to be represented with 50% percent in National and International Federations as one of their rights. The proposal attracted huge support and backing from a number of federations and national committees who supported the proposal of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee’s treasurer and the IPC registered the proposal and said that all proposals will be studied and reconsidered after the general Assembly meeting.

Ramadan highlighted that it is the right of disabled to have a say in the decision making in the different sports federations and national Paralympic committees as they are the best ones aware of their needs and what suit them and what does not so they have to have a greater representation to have an equal decision in the different issues related to disabled. He added that from his opinion this is the best step for inclusion for disabled in their societies and communities.
