Mohamed Kamal, the Egyptian national team Para athlete in discuss throw F37, was able to snatch the gold medal and the first place for Egypt in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2023 taking place in Jesolo, Italy at Armando Picchi Stadium from 12 to 14th May. In his six attempts, he was able to score the best marks in his fourth attempt with 49.32 points. He was followed by Japan’s Yamato Shimbo in second place with 47.23 points and Ukraine’s Oleksander Doroshenko in third place with a total of 42.27 medals.
39-year old Kamal expressed his joy at the achievement by saying,” I am very happy with this medal and the number I have achieved as it is the first contender after recovering from my injury. I am very satisfied with what I have achieved. I am sure that in the coming World Championship I will better my numbers and be able to snatch a medal for my country Egypt. I am dreaming of a medal in the coming 2024 Paris Paralympics.”
