The Egyptian football national team for dwarfs is preparing to participate in the Afro-Asian Championship which will be held in Morocco from May 20 to 30, with the participation of teams from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Ivory Coast and Kenya in addition to the host, Morocco.
The tournament is considered part of the preparation plan for the Egyptian team as it has qualified to the World Cup to take place in Germany from July 27 to August 5.
The Egyptian team delegation consists of 16 members, headed by Ali Shaaban, the national team technical director in addition to coaches Mohamed Al-Bayda and Mahmoud Al-Hadary. The team’s players are Ahmed Abdel Razek (team captain), Walid Essam, Abdel Rahman Barakat, Mahdi Mohamed, Marwan Amr, Youssef Rawy, Abdel Ghani Hussein, Ramadan El-Sayed, Mostafa Mahmoud, Mamdouh Said, and goalkeepers Said El-Kharbawy and Emad Gouda.
Ali Shaaban called on all Egyptians to support the team as it is the first participation for the Egyptian national team in an international tournament with the support and sponsorship of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the supervision of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee.
Shabaan thanked Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports and Dr. Hossam Eldin Mostafa,the Egyptian Paralympic Committee headed President for supporting the team with all its necessities and assisting the team and the sport.
