Al-Fayoum hosted the Para Taekwondo national championship in two styles, Kyorugi and Poomsae, for all disabilities on April 28th and 29th.
200 male and female para athletes participated in the two-day event.
Hazem Kandil, Egyptian Taekwondo Federation board member and supervisor of Para Taekwondo teams, confirmed that the championship is important as it is the first Para Taekwondo championship to be held on its own. It is also the first championship to feature competitions for adults, youth, and children to discover new talents in the sport. Additionally, it is the first championship to bring together all disabilities, including Wheelchair Taekwondo.
Kandil added that after the championship, our national team will enter a closed training camp in preparation for the World Championship, which is scheduled to take place by the end of May.
