Dr. Hossam Eldin Mostafa, the EPC President congratulated Yasmina Eissa after she was able to grab the gold medal at the Brazil International Para Badminton Championship which took place at Sao Paulo from 10th to 16th April 2023.
Mostafa commented by saying that this gold medal reflects the cooperation and coordination between the EPC and the different sports federations that work with the people with disabilities.” We give a helping hand to all federation and clubs to make it easy for our Para athletes to excel in the different international competitions and be able to qualify to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.”
Eissa was able to snatch the gold in the doubles with the help of her American colleague against their Taiwanese opponents with a result of 2-0 with sets 21-17 and 21-16. The Egyptian American double were able to make it to the final after beating their Hong Kong opponents with the same result,2-0 with sets 21-7 and 21-8.
Brazil International Para Badminton Championship is one of the important stations that is accredited by the International Paralympic Committee as a qualifying event to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Yasmina is also considered one of the main players of the Egyptian Para badminton team that Dr. Ali Hasaballah , head of the Egyptian badminton Federation, is hanging high hopes on to qualify to the Paralympics and represent Egypt to compete on a Paralympic medal.
