The Egyptian Paralympic Committee President discusses the possibility of holding psychological training courses for both players and coaches

Dr. Hossam Eldin Mostafa, EPC President, held a meeting with the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, represented by Dr. Sobhi Hassanein, in addition to the General Administration of Psychologists at the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, represented by Dr. Saeed Hasaballah.

The meeting aimed at developing a work plan for the Egyptian Paralympic movement in all areas, including psychological preparation for players.

This plan aims to improve the athletic performance of Para athletes by improving their mental health, increasing focus and motivation, and providing psychological rehabilitation and positive thinking. The plan also involves developing the skills of coaches and psychologists to provide comprehensive and effective training, as well as enhancing the partnership between coaches and psychologists to ensure the improvement of the athletic performance of Para athletes in all sports.

The plan includes training coaches and psychologists on how to deal with Para athletes by improving their skills in communication and interaction, as well as providing psychological advice and guidance, training on self-confidence development, stress management, and improving the mental and emotional health of  Para athletes.

It depends on a comprehensive program of sports psychology training consisting of four steps: psychological consultation, diagnosis, development of a psychological plan, and psychological training.

It is expected to contribute to the improvement of Para athletes’ performance and increasing their chances of winning medals in different sports competitions.
