Sobhy receives Stewart Douglas, head of the World Para Volley Technical Committee

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, met with Mr. Stewart Douglas, head of the Technical Committee at the World Para Volley Federation, to discuss the preparations related to Egypt hosting the World Sitting Volleyball Championships in October of this year.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest preparations for the event, which is scheduled to be held in October, and coordinated with the Egyptian Paralympic Committee and the Egyptian Para Volley Federation to provide all the necessary facilities and logistics.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports welcomed hosting the World Sitting Volleyball Championship in cooperation with the International Paralympic Volleyball Federation and the  EPC.

The Minister emphasized that the world trusts Egypt’s ability to organize and host major sports events and championships, pointing out that the organizing committee for the championship is being closely followed up, and all requirements are being provided.

Sobhy also directed the quick formation of organizing committee and the different committees needed to facilitate the follow-up of all logistic and administrative matters related to the championship in order to ensure the success of this important international event.

The meeting was attended by Ehab Hassanein, member of the board of EPC and head of the African Para Volley federation in addition to heading the Arab federation for people with disabilities, Dr. Amr Haddad, Assistant to the minister for sports development, Dr. Mustafa Abdel Halim, President of the Egyptian Para Volley Federation(EPVF), Brigadier General Mansour Mohamadi, Deputy President of the EPVF , Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, General Director of Sports Federations and Specialized Committees, Dr. Howeida Mondi, the EPC Executive Director.
