Today is the big show

The New Administrative Capital Club Swimming Pool hosts the Citi Para Swimming World Series Championship that launches today till the 12th of November which is held under the auspices of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports.

The tournament witnesses the participation of 16 countries as follows: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Bosnia, Netherlands, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Morrocco, Spain, India, Finland, Estonia, France, Kyrgyzstan and Egypt, the host country.

Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, President of the Egyptian  Paralympic Committee, stressed that holding the International Paralympic Swimming Championship in Cairo, specifically in the New Administrative Capital, is an honor and a confirmation that Egypt is always capable of hosting the most important and largest sporting events with the support of the Egyptian state and its leader, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who gives great importance to sports in general and Paralympic sports in particular.

Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa thanked Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for his continued support of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee (EPC).

He also declared that the EPC decided to cancel all celebrations, and the opening ceremony, which is customary for hosting sporting events, in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

On the other hand, the  local organizing committee, headed by Mohamed Yehia Youssef who is member of board of the EPC, held the technical meeting for the tournament.

The meeting was attended by all heads of delegations participating in this major event.

Yehia praised the commitment of all participating delegations and their keenness to implement all instructions related to the tournament for the success of the great event, which is important in the champions’ journey and gives the winners points that help them raise their global ranking to be able to qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
