Dr. Ashraf Sobhy,the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, was eager to visit the Egyptian national football team for dwarfs at their training camp in the Olympic Center in Maadi before traveling to Morocco to represent Egypt in the coming Afro-Arab Championship from 20th to 30th May in Casablanca.
Sobhy cheered the players of the team for their talents and ensured that the Ministry of Youth and Sports in addition to the political leadership are always giving a helping hand to them and we will work on illuminating all their obstacles. He assured them that he will be watching them and cheering them as well and will receive them on their return with the gold medal. Sobhy also listened to all their complains and needs.
On the other hand, Ali Shabaan, head of the dwarfs committee at the Egyptian Paralympic Committee (EP), thanked Sobhy for his continuous support and help together eith the EPC members of board which made their dream to participate in the Afro-Arab championship come true. He also assured that the team will exert its utmost effort to win the first place and the gold medal as Egypt is a pioneer in football for dwarfs.
The Egyptian delegation consists of 16 members, headed by Ali Shaaban, the national team technical director in addition to coaches Mohamed Al-Bayda and Mahmoud Al-Hadary. The team’s players are Ahmed Abdel Razek (team captain), Walid Essam, Abdel Rahman Barakat, Mahdi Mohamed, Marwan Amr, Youssef Rawy, Abdel Ghani Hussein, Ramadan El-Sayed, Mostafa Mahmoud, Mamdouh Said, and goalkeepers Said El-Kharbawy and Emad Gouda.
