The Egyptian Paralympic Committee opens a new Para swimming training center in Cairo

Dr. Hossam Eldin Mostafa, EPC President has inaugurated the new Para swimming training center in Cairo The center is headed by renowned Paralympian,  Adel Hafez ,the winner of the 1st Egyptian Paraylmpic medal in swimming in Toronto Paralympic Games 1976, and coach Khaled Saleh, the first-ever Para swimmer to cross the English Channel in history.

It aims at spreading the sport and preparing a new generation of junior Para swimmers that can form an Egyptian well-trained national team that is able to compete on the international level.

As Mostafa explained,” This is the second center to be opened in less than a year as the first one was inaugurated in Alexandria. I am aiming at opening a number of swimming training centers all over Egypt as I am for de-centralization and such centers attract swimmer from all around Egypt and give us a chance to have a wide variety of talented swimmers from which we can select our national team.

The Cairo Para Swimming center which is located in the Cairo Stadium’s Swimming Complex, targets 92 swimmers and trains twice a week on Sundays and Tuesdays.

The EPC treasurer, Emad Ramadan, and the EPC board member, Ehab Hassanean, joined the Para swimmers and their parents their joy at the opening ceremony of the Cairo center.
