Youssef and Ziad qualify for the Paralympic Swimming World Championship in Manchester 2023

Both Youssef Mohamed and Ziad Hisham Kahlil achieved the world record in the 150 meter individual medley race with a time of 3:59:76 at the World Swimming Cup for People with Disabilities, held in the English city of Sheffield. They also achieved the qualifying time for the 100 meter freestyle race, with a time of 2:15:32.

In the 100-meter breaststroke race, Ziad Hisham Kahlil broke the African record with a time of 1:58:02 and qualified for the World Championship in Manchester. He also achieved the qualifying time for the 200-meter freestyle race with a time of 2:57:09.

Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, Egyptian Paralympic Committee(EPC) President, confirmed that the Egyptian team participating in the World Championship was well-prepared and is expected to snatch medals and break records at the World Championship in Manchester.

The Egyptian Paralympic swimming national team arrived in Sheffield a few days ago to participate in the World Cup from March 13 to March 20, with 304 players representing 35 countries and 111 local players from 72 clubs. The Egyptian delegation consisted of  Dr. Ashraf El-Ouguily, EPC board member and head of the delegation, Emad Madbouly, coach and administrator, Dr. Hajjaj Hani as a doctor in addition to Para swimmers Malak Hussein, Aya Allah Ayman, Ziad Hisham, and Youssef Mohamed El-Sayed.
