Egypt hosts the first-ever Judo Grand Prix Championship for the Blind

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, attended the press conference to announce the details of the Paralympic Judo Grand Prix Championship, which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games that Egypt will host from 9th to 18th of March 2023.

Sobhy affirmed the efforts of the Egyptian leadership, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in supporting all kinds of sports, integrating all segments of society under one umbrella, and supporting Egyptian players.

It is the first ever Paralympic Judo Grand Prix championship to be hosted by a Middle East country and in the African continent.

Dr. Ahmed Awain, President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for the Blind, thanked the Minister of Youth and Sports for his constant support for people of determination and for his continuous efforts to develop Egyptian sports, as well as for contributing to organizing international events, especially that Egypt now has huge sports facilities that meet the international level.

It is worth noting that 200 players representing 32 countries will compete in the championship, a qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
