The International Para Table Tennis Championship was held in Egypt at the 6th of October Hall,and the Egyptian Para Table Tennis national team collected a total of 8 diverse medals:2 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze.
Sayed Youssef secured the gold medal in the men’s singles competition in the seventh category on the second day of the championship.
The player also claimed the gold medal in the men’s doubles category alongside the Belgium champion in the fourteenth category.
While Samah Eid won the bronze medal in the eighth category. Khaled Ramadan and Islam Rasslan secured the bronze medal in the fourth category.
In the mixed doubles, Ayman Kamal and Lamiaa Mohamed won the silver medal in the tenth category, while Hassan Talba and Fayza Mahmoud achieved the bronze medal in the same category.
Abdulrahman Abdulwahab won the bronze medal in the twentieth category with the Hungarian champion, and Samah Eid was crowned with the bronze medal in the seventh category with the Italian champion.
The championship witnessed the participation of 27 countries, with a total of 184 players, as follows: Belgium, Chile, the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Britain, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, in addition to the host country, Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, under the leadership of Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, pays great attention to disabled sports through coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and sports federations that prioritize Paralympic activities.
The Egyptian Paralympic Committee aims to qualify the largest number of players in various sports to participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and achieve more accomplishments for Egyptian sports.
