The Egyptian Para Powerlifting national team is preparing to participate in the Para Powerlifting World Cup

The national para powerlifting team is preparing for the World Cup, which will be hosted by Egypt from November 3rd to 5th at Hassan Mustafa Complex in Sixth of October City.

Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, the president of the Paralympic Committee, confirmed that 12 countries confirmed their attendance and participation in the championship, in addition to Egypt as the host.
These countries include “Italy, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Namibia, Moldova, Estonia, Hungary, Zambia, and Malawi”.

The international classification of players will take place two days before the championship, and the championship is considered one of the tournaments that contribute to the global ranking of players.

The national team has been preparing for the championship through a closed camp at the Olympic Center in Maadi. They have now moved to the Hassan Mustafa Hall hotel in preparation for the major tournament.

Dr. Shaban El-Khateeb, head of the organizing committee , confirmed that meet and assist have been scheduled for the participating teams, starting from Cairo Airport until they reach the accommodation hotel.

Meanwhile, the technical meeting of the championship was held in the presence of representatives from the World ParaPowerlifting Federation, George Morino,WPPO President, Sandra Foul, Competition Manager, and Dillion Richardson, Director of Development . Also present were Azam Al-Zu’bi, the Jordanian international referee, Mahmoud Al-Sharbini, the Egyptian international referee and tournament manager, and Dr. Shaban Al-Khatib, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the championship, along with representatives from the participating countries in the championship. The meeting aimed to discuss the technical details and all matters related to the technical committee of the championship.

The Egyptian national team consists of 5 technical and administrative staff and 21 male and 12 female players. The technical staff includes Head Coach Andrei Acheberie, General Coach Mohamed Ezzat, Coach Hani Mahmoud, and Coach Shaban Yahya. The team’s administrator is Ali Mohamed.
