As a preparation for the coming Deaf World Cup to take place in Malaysia from 23rd of September to 7th of October, the Egyptian national deaf football team entered in a closed camp at Cairo Stadium prior to traveling to the World Cup. The Egyptian team falls in Group A which includes also Nigeria, Turkey, and Malaysia, the host. The team will start its inaugural match on the 23rd of September by facing Nigeria.
The Egyptian national deaf football team was able to snatch the silver medal in the previous edition of the World Cup held in Turkey last year.
The team comprises of the following players: Mohamed Elhamy, Hamada Farouk, Mohamed El Sayed, Ahmed Emad, Mohamed Ezzat, Said Nour, Mustafa Qadry, Mohamed Abdel Hameed, Mohamed Emad, El Sayed Shawky, Adel Tarek, Nabih Sameh, Qassem Osama, Mohamed Mahmoud, Maher Mohamed, Mohamed Ahmed, Abdel Salam Ibrahim, Saber Gamal, El Sayed Ahmed, Mustaf Fathy, Ahmed Masoud, Omar Mohamed, Hasssan Nabil, Mohamed Saleh, Abdullah Mahmoud, Ali El Sayed, Mustafa Abdel Hameed, Ismail Mohamed, Abdel Rahman Abdullah, Mohamed Taha, Omar Samir, Maher El Gohary and Mustafa Abdel Sattar.
The delegation is headed by Mohamed Yehia, the Egyptian Paralympic Committee board member, and El Sayed Masoud as head of deaf committee, Shawkat El Naggar as technical manager, Fouad Abdel Hameed as coach, Hesham Soliman goal keepers coach, El Sayed Gomaa as administrator and Hamada Hosny as physical therapy specialist.
On the other hand, businessman, Ahmed Abou Hashima, Egyptian Senator will attend the team’s last training next Wednesday and take part in the training with them as he is used to support and celebrate with the national deaf football team even in 2022 when they came victorious with the silver medal.
